GANADO Advocates co-sponsors Global ABS 2017

GANADO Advocates, together with FinanceMalta, are sponsoring this year’s edition of Global ABS, that will take place in Barcelona between the 6th and 8th of June. Now in its 21st year running, Global ABS is the annual appointment for 3,500+ investors, issuers and service providers from all over the world to come together, explore and discuss current issues and opportunities emerging within the securitisation industry. This year’s programme will be mainly focused around the impact of major global regulatory initiatives and political developments and how the securitisation market is reacting to these.

Nicholas Curmi from the firm’s securitisation practice will be participating in a panel discussion – “STS” Primer: What it Means for the European and International ABS Market – on the 6th of June, together with representatives from Santander Global Banking & Markets, Obvion, Credit Agricole CIB, UniCredit Corporate & Investment Banking and The Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME). Nicholas is Deputy Chair of the Malta EU Council Presidency Working Party on the proposed EU STS Securitisation Regulation and is responsible for leading the technical negotiations on the Regulation on behalf of the EU Council.

GANADO Advocates is singled out for its depth and ability to provide legal advice on even the most complex debt and equity transactions and securitisation deals, having been at the forefront of the most innovative capital markets transactions in Malta and a driver for innovation in their regulation. The firm has, in particular, been instrumental to the introduction of modern structured finance techniques to Malta, with a hand in drafting both the Securitisation Act and supporting legislation.
