GANADO Advocates sponsored the National Insurance Conference, that was held at the Westin Dragonara Hotel on the 3rd of June, about the emergent legal, economic and regulatory developments within the insurance industry. Organised by the Malta International Training Centre (MITC), the conference saw the participation of major players within the insurance sector in Malta, and was addressed by the Minister for Finance and the Chairman of the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA).

Dr Nicholas Curmi, Associate within the firm’s Capital Markets practice, delivered a presentation about Insurance-Linked Securitisation (ILS) in the context of the local regulatory framework. Dr Elaine Magri, Associate within the firm’s Insurance practice, participated in a panel discussion about the impact of regulatory developments on the insurance industry, in light of the new rules on Alternative Dispute Resolution transposing an EU directive.
