Dr Matthew Brincat appointed chairperson of the newly established Malta Employment Lawyers Association

Legal practitioners in the field of employment law came together to form a new association – the Malta Employment Lawyers Association (M.E.L.A) – aimed at presenting a unified voice in lobbying with the government and other competent authorities when it comes to the implementation and the application of employment legislation and regulations.

M.E.L.A. will bring together the interests of practising employment lawyers, and will provide a much-required input to proposed legislation as well as propose amendments to existing regulations, strictly from a legal perspective.

The association was formed on the 9th October 2017 by 9 founding members. Dr Matthew Brincat, Partner in charge of the Employment practice at GANADO Advocates, was appointed Chairperson of the association and Dr Lara Pace, Associate within the same practice, is also one of the founding members.
