In this issue we provide further insight into Legal Notice 140 related to tax incentives to employees employed with technical managers of ships that hold a DOC under the ISM or other qualified employment in maritime activities.

Legal update

Ship Management: Tax Incentives for Employees

An employee engaged by a ship management company may now enjoy beneficial tax rates on employment income. The relevant legislation introducing these new rules is found in the “Qualifying Employment in Maritime Activities and the Servicing of Offshore Oil and Gas Industry Activities (Personal Tax) Rules (Legal Notice 140 of 2018).
